Beverly joined David Barney & Co in 2014 as an Assistant in the Conveyancing Department. With over 20 years conveyancing experience, Beverly began studying SQA Level 4 and Level 6 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice in 2017 by distance learning and graduated in 2019 as a Licenced Conveyancer.

Beverly’s experience is focused in Residential Conveyancing and is passionate about supporting clients and guiding them through the conveyancing process.

In her spare time Beverly enjoys spending time with her family, country dog walks, cooking and travelling.

Mark came to the legal profession as a mature student having travelled predominately in Australia, Indonesia and South Africa for 4 years. During that time he met many people from all sorts of backgrounds and cultures from around the World.  He played cricket on the Gold Coast in Australia and Constantia in Cape Town South Africa and also worked many jobs such as coaching, hotel porter, cleaner, backpackers representative, cleaning windows at traffic lights to mention just a few of the many he did whilst travelling. He attended the University of Hertfordshire as a mature student to complete his Law Degree before going to  BPP in London to complete his Legal Practice Course.

Mark qualified as a solicitor in 2002 with David Barney & Company and was made a partner of the firm in 2005. Mark’s practice is focused on Residential Conveyancing and he conducts a high volume of Residential Conveyancing transactions as well as Home Equity Releases, Transfer of Equitys and Remortgages for his clients.

Mark has a good reputation with local estate agents and clients, not only in the Stevenage area but also servicing a regular client base in Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Potters Bar, Enfield, Suffolk and all across London.

Mark is a very friendly and approachable solicitor who is committed to providing a high standard of service to his clients. He prides himself on being a family man with three children and understanding the needs of his clients during the difficult and stressful period of buying and selling their home.

Mark is a regular golf player and sports fan and he and his wife Debbie are committed supporters of a fantastic charity called the Rooprai Spinal Trust Charity helping people with spinal injuries. Mark has also returned to playing cricket at his old club Hoddesdon Town for which we are also proud sponsors of as they have a very large youth playing system available.

Lauren explored various career opportunities (including being a Sales Progressor at an Estate Agents and a Personal Assistant) prior to becoming a Legal Secretary in 2015 with a previous firm.

She steadily worked her way up to become a Paralegal by obtaining her CILex Level 3 in Law and Practice (Conveyancing) in 2021 and is continuing to expand her knowledge of more complicated transactions since joining David Barney & Co in January 2024.

Lauren is a keen equestrian and spends her time attending events with her daughter along with going on walks with her two dogs

Sam graduated with a degree in Law with Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies from the University of Plymouth in 2018. After returning from Plymouth, Sam briefly worked in Finance for a few years before working as an Office Administrator in a Conveyancing Firm.

Sam joined David Barney & Co in March 2024 where he currently works in the conveyancing department as a fee earner under the supervision of Beverly Davison. Sam is currently training to be a Licenced Conveyancer.

In his spare time, Sam enjoys visiting the coast, travelling and spending time with his family, when he isn’t buried in a legal textbook.

Stevie-Jean joined David Barney & Company LLP as a Legal Assistant in July 2024 after completing her A Levels in Law, Criminology and History.

Since joining the team she has been eager to progress within the Conveyancing Department and in August 2025 started a Level 4 Conveyancing Technician Apprenticeship to further develop her skills and knowledge.

Stevie-Jean is committed to making the conveyancing process as smooth and stress-free as possible for all clients.

Outside of work, she enjoys playing netball and spending quality time with my family.
