The eagle eyed will notice a slightly new design to our shirts, and there will be more news to come on that over the next few days.

David Barney & Co are proud to sponsor Simply Love International.

The charity was set up by Erin Meyer, a wedding photographer in Minnesota, helped by Val Rogers in UK. It aims to build sustainability for poor families through education, community development and Simply Loving children and orphans near and far.  For the past ten years they have been supporting Global orphanage in Tengeru, northern Tanzania. The building has slowly been improved and all 19 children are being sponsored through private education in English. Jaqueline the eldest girl has just been accepted for a place at university. She is the first in the whole village to achieve so much. This Easter on a 12 day visit they set up a nursery class with free education for 4-5 year old children from poor families in the community.

On their last day they discovered that Vanessa, a 11 year old neighbour who lives with her grandparents in a simple shack, was attending Mavinuni Primary , the local government school, from 6am until 6pm studying for National Examinations in October. Tanzanian Government provides basic education for free but families have to pay for lunches. Vanessa was working all day without food because her grandparents were too poor to pay £25 a YEAR for lunch. Simply Love immediately paid and she started having a basic hot meal. However, on checking how many other children were in the same plight it was discovered that of 320 pupils 125 were going hungry each day. Back home a plea went out to family and friends and in a week ALL children were being fed.
